Privacy & Cookie Policy

1. Who we are

Degen Assets CommV, registered office at De Keyserlei 60C/1301, 2018 Antwerp, Belgium, registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under number BE 1012.248.151.

We are the controller for the processing described in this policy. You can reach us at info@degenassets.io or +32 456 96 17 38.

2. What we do, and what that means for your data

We put transaction data back together. Concretely: we bring your transaction history across exchanges, wallets and protocols into one documented overview in which every figure can be traced back to a source.

That means that, once you become a client, we work with detailed information about your assets. We handle that in two different ways depending on the stage. That distinction matters, so we set it out below.

3. What data we process

When you fill in the intake form

  • your email address (required) and your first name (optional);
  • which exchanges you have used, including platforms that no longer exist;
  • the period over which you have been active;
  • whether you still have access to your accounts;
  • how many wallets of your own you have, and on which chains;
  • what you have done besides buying and selling;
  • whether there are platforms where you did not have to verify your identity when opening the account.

This data is descriptive. It contains no wallet addresses, no transaction data and no amounts.

When you give us an assignment

  • exports from exchanges and platforms;
  • public addresses of your wallets;
  • transaction data, valuations, fees and transfers;
  • the correspondence that goes with it.

For invoicing

Name, address, email address, payment details and, where applicable, your company number.

4. Why we process that data, and on what basis

Preparing a quoteTo be able to give you a priceSteps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract
Carrying out the reconstructionTo deliver the agreed assignmentPerformance of the contract
Invoicing and keeping our accountsLegal obligationLegal obligation

You can withdraw your consent for the intake form at any time. If an assignment is running at that moment, the processing needed for it continues: that rests on the contract, not on your consent.

5. Who sees your data

On our side: only our internal staff. Nobody else has access.

We use the following service providers, who act solely on our instructions:

WhoFor what
WebheroHosting of the website and processing of form submissions
HostingerEmail traffic via info@degenassets.io
ProtonSecure storage and exchange of assignment material

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for commercial purposes.

6. How your data is protected

We distinguish between two kinds of data, because the protection differs and we do not want to suggest that everything is secured in the same way.

Assignment material — exports, wallet addresses, transaction data — is exchanged and stored through a secure Proton folder to which only we have access. We ask you not to send this material by ordinary email.

Intake data from the form travels through our website provider and reaches us by email. That is an ordinary email connection. This is why the form does not ask for wallet addresses, amounts or transaction data.

7. How long we keep your data

WhatHow long
Intake forms that do not lead to an assignment1 year after receipt
Assignment material5 years after the assignment is closed
Invoices and accounting records10 years, statutory retention period

After the assignment ends you can ask us to delete the assignment material. We will do so, except for records we are legally required to keep.

8. Transfers outside the European Union

We do not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area. Our website provider processes your data on servers within the European Union, and our email provider and secure storage are likewise located within the EEA.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • request access to the data we process about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased;
  • have the processing restricted;
  • receive your data in a common format or have it transferred;
  • object to the processing;
  • withdraw your consent, without affecting what was done on the basis of that consent beforehand.

Send your request to info@degenassets.io. We will reply within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be, gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
